Permeable Membranes PUR/TETA and PUR/TEPA for CO2 Capture Prepared with One-Step Electrospinning Technology

A simple one-step technology of wire electrospinning is presented for the manufacturing air-permeable CO2-capturing membranes, easily transferable to industrial production lines. The design chemically-modified polyurethane nanofiber membranes CO2 capture was based on a combination molecular modeling and technological experiments using (i.e., modifying agent dissolved directly in spinning solution). Polyurethane (PUR Larithane), chemically modified by TETA/TEPA amines, used present study membrane design. Special attention paid two key parameters significant functional unit, i.e., sorption capacity air permeability which depended amine concentration. optimal these found PUR/TEPA (5 wt.% TEPA solution): 13.97 cm3/g with an 0.020 m/s. Molecular proved be valuable tool that helped clarify, at level, structure nanofibrous membranes.
